Flu 2020

We are expecting to have vaccines delivered by the end of September and to run our clinics starting from 30th September.  These will all be pre-bookable only and in 5 minute slots. YOU ARE NOW ABLE TO MAKE THESE APPOINTMENTS It is important that you only attend at the time of the appointment so we can maintain distancing and only if you have an appointment.  We are unable to offer any kind of walk-in or drop-in for flu vaccination this year.  We will also be running 3 Saturday clinics to do Flu vaccinations only.

There are 2 separate vaccines this year – 1 for those aged 65 and older and another for those under 65 years.  This is due to the relative effectiveness for each age group.  We will be running clinics at separate times for each age group to reduce the risk of administering the wrong vaccine.

If you have been on the extremely vulnerable/shielding list please let reception know when booking.  Household members of individuals who have been shielding will also be eligible for a flu jab this year.

‘Please note that, if you are aged between 50 and 64 and not in a clinical at risk group, the earliest you will be offered a flu vaccination is November, providing there is sufficient vaccine.  No appointments will be offered for people in this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.    If you are aged 50 to 64 and are in a clinical ‘at risk’ group which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.’

Thank you
